Hi!

THe Valsalva maneuvre, which seems to be what aou describe here most of the time seems to get triggered by the attempt of putting the tongue in attacking position, building up the pressure from your belly and then try to get the note started by releasing your tongue. Wont work, never does, or with some people for a limited amount of time, but sooner or later it stopps working.

Well, here comes the good news: thereŽs way out!
Read song and wind, get your brain moving! You canŽt unlearn your habit, so form a new one. Start notes without the tongue, sort of "fuuuuh" add the tongue in the middle of the note, getting sort of a "fuuuuhthuuuuh". Now try to move the "thuuuuh" closer and closer to th e "fuuuuh" gradually getting them syncronised. Next leave out the "fuuuuh", still moving the air in the exact same fashion! Now try to vary intensity of "th" to get all the different kinds of attacks youŽll need, from the softest "luuuuuh" to the most explosive "tttttttuh". But ALLWAYS make sure that what starts thhe note is air on the move, not air under pressure!
Maybe e-meil me once you get results...

Best of luck, Oli
