Trumpet players look and look for "a C trumpet with the deep sound of a Bb, but the quickness and sparkle of a C". Few find what they're looking for.
With tubas, the CC gives a player suddenly noticable quickness/agility, as the bugle on a CC is two feet shorter. As the bell and bow are generally the same on sister BBb/CC instruments, the "deep sound" is usually about the same to the listener - maybe slightly different for the player.
The main issue is whether the CC instrument will play useably in tune.
