If there are 2 excellent auditionees at this audition, the second place finisher MAY BE told to hang on for 6 months when a position may be offered to him or her. You may already know that an audition for a military band is good for 6 months. Say perhaps that the first candidate is selected, but then cannot get through basic training--then the 2nd candidate (if there is one) will be called up (within that 6-month period). At the moment, however, NO ONE is sure about anything to do with filling my spot. It could very well be that we'll hold another audition some time down the road.
The only certain thing at the moment is that we'll have a tuba audition on June 3rd. If someone knocks the judges socks off, they'll be invited to take SGM Tilbury's spot. Sorry that I can't be more clear--no one knows anything more.
