Lew, one thing you might consider is building a special tuning slide for it that has a fourth valve branch built into it. A Cerveny .835-bore rotor and tubing might do the trick. The tubing could wrap through the gap in the outer branches to feed a floating valve branch behind the body of the horn. My York Master has routing like that the fourth valve, except, of course, that it doesn't float. It would be heavy, but if cleverly done, with adjustible linkage, you could still adjust the tuning slide. The big advantage, of course, is that it is fully reversible at a moment's notice. The spatula could float, too, actually, so that if it was properly shaped it would work even at various tuning slide positions.
