On my 20j I sit with it on my knee. I know that sounds crazy but I do it. I go back and forth from the chair to my knee depending on the literature. I am getting ready to order a blue note strap so I can use it for stand up concerts. I place my hand on the top brace of the third valve slide. For a mouthpiece I use a nice King 26. It sounds kind of dark that way but since I am usually the only low instrument of any type in the groups I play in it sounds ok. The lower register on it just bellows. The low Ab is just glorious.
