Charley's (UK) post about the Fiske museum got me thinking about a museum that was here in PA years ago. It was simply called the "Trumpet Museum" and was located near Pottstown in PA, USA. The currator was an Austrian (I believe) trumpet player named Franz Streitweiser. It was quite a beautiful museum housed in an old refurbished barn. The collection was not limited stricty to trumpets either but rather all kinds of brass instruments from the world over. It truly was a great museum. They sponsored many concerts throughout the year and it was just a great place for brass players to go. Unfortunately (for us here in the US anyway)Mr. Streitweiser packed up the whole kit and caboodle and moved it back to his homeland in Austria (I believe). Does anyone from Europe (or the US for that matter) know anything about Mr. Streitweiser and his Trumpet museum?
