I heard the story last night. Some acoustical engineer measured the sound energy for one of the complainers, and found a hum of 50-60 dB sound pressure at a frequency of 10-25 Hz. That sort of vibration can be made by trains, highways truck traffic, and even jet airplanes at altitude.

I think Steve has been hooking his horn up to his sub-woofer and its attendant 500-watt amplifier.

In my San Antonio days, I could tell when the C-5's were on their final approach to Kelly, but not by hearing (they were still at 10,000 feet and throttled down when they passed over my house). Any incorrectly hung pictures would settle to their preferred tilt.
