The 45SLZ is a rotary version of the 45SLP. For what is worth, these tubas differ in many ways from the 45s series. I played a 45SLZ and 46SLZ (6 valve version) at the Wenel Meinl factory in January. It is a nice tuba. I think it sounds more like an F-tuba verses the 45SLP which to me has some CC-tubaish charateristics. I understand that the 45SLZ came about exactly for that reason. In Europe, too many people thought the 45SLP was too like a CC-tuba sound wise. Check them out! How much are the selling them for? Good luck. Lots of F-tubas to choose from!
