I've been meaning to make a frequency divider from specs I've found on-line. I can imagine a sub octave rumbling to shake the house.

I have played my tuba through a home-made vocoder (impose vocal formants on a carrier wave: with someone else speaking (tip: isolate vocal mike from tuba sound) whilst you play, it can sound pretty cool.

I've also used ring modulation effects (available in stomp-boxes) when recording. Does anyone in the US know what a Dalek is?

Try playing live through a Digitech vocal harmoniser. Instant harmonies!

Then there's Antares auto tune. No need to worry about intonation problems: fix it in the mix.

I could go on...

Ian (funkiest sound I've had out of a tuba was with a tenor sax mouthpiece) Easton
