I'm not sure that your three points are particularly strong arguments:
1/ Probably the vast majority of Juilliard graduates are the very ones who are taking some of those $20,000/yr jobs in the arts...if indeed they are able to secure jobs at all.
2/ The money has never been the motive for any of these people...again NEVER for ANY of them (and a mean NONE of them).
3/ Most folks would dread living in Honolulu as well as New York City, but there are obviously plenty of folks who would love to live and work in these cities, as (obviously) they are both well-populated.
