The MW 2145 is an awesome horn for all around playing. I play it in my College Orch, SWE and everything else...I have gotten to the point that I need a bigger horn and am in the process of selling my 2145 now. I will say htis about the 2145, I have played about 30 different ones and I haven't found one that plays better than mine...try lots and lots of them. Try a 45 next to a 55 and check the difference. Also another sweet horn that is alittle bigger is the Conn 56J, my prof has one and it is pretty sweet.
Hope this helps...but really if you get a good 2145 you will be set until your prof and you agree that you need to take a step up and that takes several hours in a practice room daily,etc...
