Yes, I agree that nearly all professional sports teams get public funds for the building of stadiums. This would be analogous to orchestras not having to pay to build the facilities in which they perform (which, unless I am mistaken, they don't either).

But the question at hand was about salaries, and certainly you don't believe that government subsidies are used to help pay professional athletes the money they get for performing. I don't think our professional musicians can say the same. It doesn't necessarily bother me that public dollars go to pay part of those salaries, but lets at least be honest about it and compare apples to apples.

Do I think that professional athletes make an excessive amount of money for what they do? Sure. Do I think that professional musicians should make more? You bet. Does is matter what I think? Obviously not.
