Ive been playing euph for a number of years (25) I've had 4 Sovereigns, dating from 1977 to 2001 models. I have also had a Willson 2950, a Meinl Weston 451. I've tried the Yamaha 842 and the Hirsbruner. I have tried a Besson Prestige in performance and I believe the Prestige is the best for me.

I know everyone is different and that what is great for some is not so good for others.

I beleive the only thing to do is try them all and see which one suits you better.

Recently I competed in a national solo competion and used the Meinl Weston, as the piece i played required a lot of high pp work. For me the MW is very well suited to the high register.

On the subject of the Yamamha, it just wasn't for me. I played a demo model in a 2 hour rehearsal and found it to be very sluggish in it's soundand not very responsive in the high register. To me an average Sovereign was a better alternative.

That's my two bits worth.
