I was set on a helicon in the beginning, and it would still be a great instrument to have.
I was also offered a 3 valve Eb helicon. What is your opinion of learning on it (the price is extremely reasonable, but it needs work) and then "graduating" to the 4 valve EEb helicon once I have some chops?

P.S. - Does anyone know if the "Chicago Champion Silver Piston" instruments were actually made in the U.S., or are they Czech instruments stamped as Chicago?
