A few of us (five, in fact) are working on starting a brass quintet to play for enjoyment. In looking at options for music, I notice that the Canadian Brass offer several books at different levels of difficulty, which seem quite reasonably priced. Our thinking is to buy one or more sets of these books at the intermediate level and use them to get comfortable playing together in ensemble before pushing on further.
Any comments on the CB collections from this august (in May) bbs?
How are the arrangements?
How appropriate is the levelling? That is, does 'intermediate' really describe the level, or is the levelling kind of low, or high?
