No guessing needed, it's a dePrins. Made in Belgium and imported by Walter Sear. It's the second version. The first had funny-looking loops at the top of the 3rd valve tubing. (I used one for about 15 years.) The instruments played very well, with excellent intonation for an inexpensive tuba. The disadvantages are: (1) a very awkwardly placed mouthpiece receiver, (2) pretty high pitch, and (3) rather small bore, making extreme low register difficult. But they were very well-built and durable, and could put out a surprisingly big sound.
