Nothing is wrong with it. I've done it many times with fine results. Sure, it's easier with a shorter tuba, but you,ve still got to buzz the same pitches no matter what. I'm reminded of the Jacob's story in which Brandenburg was being played in the Chicago Symphony, but Herseth forgot his piccolo trumpet. He picked up his C trumpet and played it just fine. Sometimes, the broader sound of the Bb is just the ticket!
