I guess I agree and disagree. I think ITEA is somewhat different than other professional societies because unlike say an engineering society it has many non-professional members. In fact ITEA recruits non-pros to be members. None of the professional societies I belong to does this or even has non-pros as members. So I guess my feeling is that if ITEA wants and recruits amatuers for membership then it ought to do more for them. I've been a member for about 20 years and to be quite honest after finding tubenet last year I wasn't going to renew this year because I get more from this forum than I do from ITEA. Much to my chagrin, I soon realized I had renewed for 2 years last year!

I also have to say they have been doing more for amatuers lately and the recent CD they sent of Rich Matteson was excellent and well worth the dues alone. So they have probably reeled me back in!
