I used to have a Holton BBb to CC conversion, and it was bigger than my Yorkbrunner. The bell was maybe 2" bigger, and all of the branching was larger. The bottom bow was enormous.
I think a very important factor is the shape of the expansion taper; a smaller horn with a more efficient taper may sound bigger than an enormous horn with a less efficient taper.
