I just finished tracking my second brass quintet CD. This one was recorded in surround. We are now in the process of doing the edits and we will start mixing in the next week or so. There are many considerations which go into making a good recording. Please email me as to particular questions. Things to consider: room, room treatment, stereo coincident pair vs. spaced pair for stereo mics, the additon of sweetening mics, what are you recording to, how are you going to mix, what is the finished product going to be, is this for vanity or comercial use, digital vs analog, additional tech personel, and a zillion other things.
