That is right in line with all of the York stuff that I have dealt with: .655" (whatever)

I DO possess a York-made Eb sousa with the name "Pioneer" on it that has an incredibly fine sound and scale. (All of the typical pitch problems that occur on Eb's are barely there, and easy to adjust.) The unusual thing about it is the bore size. It is way up in the .68+" range, similar to King, Olds, Reynolds. The pistons are the same tiny ones that York used for their typical .655" products, and thus the body of the pistons are barely large enough to accomodate the thirty-something thousandths larger bore size. Has anyone else run across any York-made tubas or sousas engraved "Pioneer", or any other York products with this larger "intermediate" bore size?
