The most common tubas are: BBflat, CC, Eflat, F. The two former are the contrabass tubas, and the latter two are bass tubas. These four are the ones most commonly refered to in discussions. That being said, Eugene Dowling recorded the Paul Droste arrangement Six Studies in English Folksong by R.V. Williams (transposed up) on a C tenor of french tuba which is pitched one octave higher than the CC tuba.
