There are four common tubas: BBb, CC, EEb, F, in ascending order of fundamental pitch. Euphonium and Baritone are Bb instruments with a fundamental pitch one octave above the fundamental of the BBb Contrabass Tuba. There are numerous exceptions, most notable the c tuba which has been commonly used in France. It has a fundamental pitch of c, one whole tone above the Euph and Baritone.

Having said that, the nomenclature breaks down into different countries traditions and languages regarding what each instrument is called.

After that, we sometimes get into rash statements and name calling.

Let's not go there with that.
