Joe, as to the English shank, my son has an older Besson 2-20 B-flat tuba that takes an English shank. Wick still makes mouthpieces with the English shank, they are numbered 1, 2, 3 and 4, based upon cup size. The same mouthpieces are also made with a German shank and they are numbered 1L, 2L, etc.
