Great piece of work here. It is sobering to think that it was a kid who played the premiere of the Ring, and that Wagner actually asked for him. Considering the novel instrumentation of the Ring, Wagner tuben, bass trumpet, etc., is it a fair assumption that the first Bayreuth Orchestra was a young band?
