We had 6 St. Petes when I was in high school, all from Die Tuba/www.tuba.com ...they are no better than any other St. Petes... the custom work done to them was just as mediocre as whoever does it for the tuba exchange (we had 2 from there). The valves are crap. The upper register is crap. AND they can be dented just by blowing on them.
Fun to play? Sure, if your idea of fun is having your valves freeze every other day, and sounding like a contrabass trombone.
