This is a question for all of the educators out there. I am a music ed major in a smaller university band and we were just asked the following question by the graduation committee at our school. "Why do you play all that extra stuff before and after Pomp and Circumstance?" We play the original arrangement (Elgar) which uses the intro and march sections. This was the "stuff" that they were referring to. My question is, are we alone in playing the original as opposed to the "watered down" version? What is played at other schools?

Please respond by email to avoid cluttering the list with this non tuba related item. (although it does have some great low brass parts!!)

Thanks,
Russell
