I wonder who that could have been. Ansermet/Suisse Romande has to be at least 30 or more years old. Ansermet had the style. Try the Tower website to see if it's still available. I recommend the more current recording by Dutoit/Montreal on Decca. Tuba by Dennis Miller. This is one of those sleeper works, not played often. Tuba part is not the most obvious, but has some very interesting passages, especially an extended bass line in the Finale. I'm still wishing I had checked a suspect note. Was it a wrong note, or an irreconcilable intonation problem? Will I ever get another shot? Let this be a lesson to you.
