Like several of the previous posts, I also went to Woodwind - Brasswind and tried several tubas with Mike Russo as a guide. I went there with the idea that the VMI was probably best suited to my playing. I tried the VMI and about 6 or 7 other horns and found that I liked the 191 best. I did not like the long valve action of the pistons on the VMI as well as the rotaries on the 191. They are both great horns. I bought the 191 and love it.
