Thanks to everyone who responded to my query about tuba jazz. I hope my fellow studetns will impressed when they see these suggestions in the list with the other brass instruments used in jazz. A footnote: I noted that the tuba player on the 1993 (or so) Qunicy Jones & Miles Davis reprise of many of the classic tunes on his late 1950s cool jazz presented on "Miles Ahead" was none other than Howard Johnson.
