How can I discern the Model number of an OLD (1927) Conn tuba? I have
found the serial number inscribed on the second valve, but can't find any
indication of what the model is. Is it inscribed somewhere on the instrument
that I can't find, or is there a way to find out from number of valves, type
of bell, and other indicators?
I'd really appriciate any help in my search. I recently obtained this instrument
(at a garage sale) and it's in decent playing condition (after a bath, new spit valve
corks, and some TLC). I am fairly tuba illiterate, being an oboist, but have
grown attached to this creature and would like to learn more. Are there any
good sights about antiques like this one?
