I would disagree with your assertion that the PT-88 doesn't "soar in the high register." I play pretty much exclusively on the PT-88, including solo pieces like the Bozza Concertino, Vaughn Williams Concerto, and other high tessitura literature. I think you will find that the smaller mouthpiece will do little to improve your endurance in the high register and will compromise your sound and response in the low register. Try instead focusing less on your embouchure in high range passages and more on your air - really tank up and think about accelerating the air speed through the horn. Too many players try to squeeze out the high notes with chops only and not nearly enough air. Best of luck!
