by the way, I tried a LOT of different mouthpieces on this tuba
and wound up going back to the same one I had been using
for like the past 10 years. Matt Walters was VERY helpful
in that he supplied me with several recommended MPs to try
the M1C didn't work at all "for me" ... I wound up liking
the Geib 5 more than the other Geibs initially, but in time
it just didn't click ... f.w.i.w. I have used the TU25 Mirafone Rose
Orchestra in this horn with decent success, the shank actually fits
a little better but the cup seems different than the older C9.
One thing I want to point out is that on my big horns they REALLY
seem to be shank-diameter sensitive, and playing characteristics
of a big horn (at least initially) can really be influenced
a lot by the amount your MP fits INTO the receiver - especially
(yes especially) the fifth partial. My experience and of course
only f.w.i.w. to ya
