Willson Tubas

In my never-ending quest to obtain a good smaller horn for German Band and other "stand-up" gigs, I purchased the Willson 3 banger from everyone's favorite (or not-so-favorite) online auction site. This is a silver plated top-loader, with a compensating valve set-up. The valves are listed as "monel" valves - a term I am not familiar with. I know Willson has a very good name in euphoniums and with its high-end tubas. This horn appears to be more of a student model, but is in very good condition. Is anyone familiar with this type of tuba and could give me more information on the model? I know the horse is already out of the barn...

BTW, on the same auction site I have listed my old Conn. It is a predecessor to the 10J and has a 20" bell; it is about 75 years old.

Thanx!
