The only problem with buzzing sans mouthpiece, as I believe it was Mr. Jacobs who made this point, is that the rim of the mouthpiece isolates which muscles are being utilized. Without that isolation, one is actually calling other muscles into play that do not need to be active. I think buzzing on a mouthpiece visualizer may be a much healthier solution.
