OK. You're a music store owner. You just finish up with a good rental season, and start accepting a few gigs again. Your chops get reasonably re-solidified and you are getting ready to play a just-for-very-much-fun "freebie" - the Gregson - with the local state university wind ensemble, and your buddy (who plays in the Symphony) gives you a call and says that he can't put off his joint replacement operation any longer. He gives the "junk" (school "mini-symphony", airport terminal brass quintet, etc.) stuff to his recently-graduated student but gives YOU the subscription stuff...' first up (this week): "Pictures" and a Gabrieli antiphonal canzona ("Septimi Toni"). You've sold all of your own CC tubas and are in the process of building one, so he LOANS YOU his BRAND NEW WILLSON CC that YOU JUST SOLD HIM to play the gig. You are paid Principal pay for four E-Z rehearsals and four shows...a pretty good check.

Joe "and I'm tryin' to decide whether to play the 'Bydlo' and the Gabrieli on my trusty F [with an excellent high G#] or a Weril euph from our wall display, just to prove a point (ie: the gig pays more than the axe costs)" S.
