Take out the adjacent piston and reach in with your finger. You can feel the port alignment easily. You will also be inspired to clean the gunk out if you haven't already done so. If your fingers are too short you can make a feeler out of insulated copper wire. Bend the tip so that only the plastic insulation touches the tuba. You can also make a decent mirror by cutting an old CD, but that's the hard way in my opinion.
