they are pretty good horns. A friend of mine in college played one and I got to play it a bit, like some of you we would exchange horns during a practice just to compare. It had pretty good tuning and was built like a tank. Very thick metal. The bore is big, so it is a bigger horn than it looks like. The sound was somewhat bland and it did not seem to work for quintet very well, but for band and orchestra it would be great. Fifth valve on the left hand seemed to bother both of us a bit. But in general I think it in underated horn. Fair price, considering what condition it is in, between $3000- 3500. Try it and see if it would fit your needs.
