They are big valves, and extremely well-made. They seem to be much more durable than older, smaller pistons. Of course the offset will make the plastic valve guides wear more rapidly. I have replaced the first valve guide with a stainless steel one and eventually will do so on the others. As for the weight on my lap, I made a ball of old socks which I place on the chair between my legs to support most of the weight. It works for me.
