it has four front pistons. the bell on this one sat horizontally and had a 90 degree curve so it was totally outward facing. i played it for everything i had except marching, obviously. this sucker is BIG! it's bigger than the yamaha im playing now (by looking at it). and definately heavier. its kind of ironic though... when i played the renolds i wanted to play the nice shiny rotory yamaha that the 2nd tuba played but now that i have to play the yamaha, i do not like it at all, or not nearly as much as the renolds axe. oh well. it's either the yamaha or a little pea shooter.
