I have done the piece on a Kurath 6/4 F and a Meinl Weston 2145 4/4 CC. I don't know that I prefer one over the other. However, I will second one of the other post-ers in saying that the low stuff is A LOT less squirly with a CC tuba. The most important consideration is the blend between the tuba parts with the brass section. Also, I'm not entirely against playing the first tuba part on a big F with the second tuba part being played on a medium sized CC. The BAT hasn't worked well for me, though. It was too far away from the sound of the bass trombone.
