Thank-you all for the information so far. Unfortunately, this info seems to be leading me to having the instrument restored completely. There are two problems with this:


  1. I probably don't have the money to get it done (which has never stopped me before), and

  2. My wife will kill me if I put any more money into low brass for a while (and I wouldn't blame her!).



Oh yes, when I was flushing out the unit and cleaning it up, I did find the serial number. If this helps anyone in nailing down its age, I would appreciate a holler. The serial number is 66852.
