-I'll second the Bordogni vocalises...I have a 'Bordogni 36 Bel Canto Etudes' published by Robert King that I assume is the same thing transcribed into bass clef. There are some gorgeous ones in there - #13 is my current favourite.
-Also Robert Shumann wrote a piece called 'Drei Romanze' (Three Romances) for Oboe, one of which was simplified and put into a solo book edited by Perantoni a while back. Any of the original romances work well.
-'Effie Sings a Lullaby' from the Effie suite (Wilder) is beautiful and not too technical.
-The first of the Spillman Two Songs.
