I disagree. I find that a PT 88 mega suits my 5/4 Rudy very nicely. I think that one should play many mouthpieces, and play on each for a period of time. then, play them for some peers (preferably ones with good ears). Let them/yourself decide which sounds best. There is not one "fix all" mouthpiece for any particular tuba. Peoples facial constructions are different, and evetyone generally plays differently. I don't believe one can make generalizations, like "big tubas should not be played with big mouthpieces". Simply put, Play what sounds best.. As a recommendation though, I would try the entire PT line of mouthpieces. Chances are, with so much selection, there will be one to suit just about anyone.
