Although it might be tough to quickly find a job doing what you've done for the kind of money that you've made (and this may well be possible fairly soon..??), just walking into the dern Walmart store tells me that we aren't in a serious "down" economy. I do not live in a "high falutin" city, but folks were carting away EXPENSIVE merchandise at Wal-phart - and waiting in long lines to pay for it.
Just this simple observation tells me that there's probably somewhere that you can go to pick up "some" money (Heck, folks are tickled to pay $25/hr. to have someone come and clean up their yards for the winter...but there aren't even enough people available to do THAT) which hopefully will keep you from going too much farther into debt while looking for the type of job that you really would like to have.
