All I can think of is that you want to paste music notation into a research type document, am I right?
Off the top of my head, I'd say you should open the music document, hit the PrintScrn button, open MS Paint. Select what you want to paste into the Word document (you don't have to copy the whole screen shot) and choose the copy command. Then go to the Word document and Paste it and position it as you need.
You won't be able to edit the example, but you will have it.
