Play the part as if it were in bass clef and you were playing a BBb tuba. Don't forget to add the requisite three flats. That has worked for me in the past. You may still encounter difficulty because the note that you are actually playing will be percieved differently based on the note that you will be looking at. The best endorsment I can give for this system is that it works for me, and if this bumble-brained hack can do it, anyone should be able to. :-)
