I am a tubist at Oberlin Conservatory of Music and some insite on scholarships is look for concerto competitions in your area. They offer some decent money and involve a chance to perform. Also, check into local organizations and music programs. You could see if the local orchestras have any financial help availible. Fastweb sort of helps, but I didn't get much out of it. Usually the high school guidense people have scholaships come into thier offices all the time. Tell him to ask those people. Yeah...It might be a McDonalds scholarship but it helps believe me.
