Odd. A book I have continuosly refers to the Eb as alto, Bb tenor, Bb baritone, Eb bass, BBb bass, and one copy of an old ad with an EEb contrabass (and a whole family of sax-horns). It does say that the Bb Baritone was also refered to as a Bb Bass. I may be wrong about all that. I can't find the book now, but it may also be using modern terms to describe the horns. This was a book on US Civil War instruments, so maybe we Americans always changed the names on these instruments, I dunno
