I think your posts are 'right on' and I agree fully. I just enjoy poking a little fun at the seriousness of it all. I really envy anyone who can make a tuba sound like anything other than squealing or grunting above or below the staff.

When I want to play higher, I simply pick up a baritone or my valve trombone. In my opinion, anything lower than Bb below the staff is not music anymore. My next challenge is to learn saxophone. My wife plays sax and I never considered playing one myself until I swapped a good old King sousa for a King bari. This is gonna be fun. That's what music is to me.... FUN! If It got too serious, I'm just afraid it would ruin everything for me.
